Getting ready for the Love Note Knit-Along 💗

Hi friend,
With cast-on day coming up on Wednesday, January 14, I wanted to send a gentle note to help you get ready — without adding anything extra to your plate.

If you have your yarn and pattern, you’re already doing great.

Here are just a few simple things you might want to check in on before we begin:

🧶 Supplies

Make sure you have your yarn ready to go. If you’re knitting with mohair, this is a nice time to wind it (or decide how you’d like to manage the two strands as you knit).

Gather your needles now so you have the sizes you need in a few different lengths.

📐 Gauge (gently!)

Gauge matters for sweaters, but it doesn’t have to feel stressful. If you like to swatch before casting on, Tin Can Knits has a wonderful, very clear post all about checking gauge here:

🧵 Pattern overview

If you’d like to familiarize yourself with the Love Note sweater before Wednesday, Tin Can Knits also has a great overview of the pattern here:

A quick reminder about the knit-along itself:

  • It’s fully online and open to everyone
  • There’s no pressure to start exactly on cast-on day
  • We’ll be knitting together at a relaxed pace, with optional Zoom chats and community support inside Club Ewe Ewe (free to join)

Now the most important thing to do is simply make a little mental (or physical!) space for your knitting. Everything else can unfold as we go.

If you have a question, you can simply reply to this email!

We really looking forward to knitting this sweater alongside you.

xo,
Heather & Karen 💗
